Continuous Improvement –
Lean 6 Sigma

Where Mathematics Meets Business

Do you wish to implement Lean Six Sigma programmes within your business, but your staff needs some training to gain confidence in the use of the methodology and its tools?

Are you already running successful Kaizen projects, but have limited capacity and need some interim support from a qualified Lean Six Sigma consultant to join your staff on a flexible, freelance basis?

Mr Coach can help you with:

  • Running Six Sigma and Lean management projects
  • Audit of your continuous improvement capabilities and quality assurance systems
  • Training staff in Six Sigma and Lean management principles
  • Mathematics and statistics subject knowledge enhancement for Lean 6 Sigma
  • Use of Sigma XL software

What is Lean Six Sigma?

Six Sigma is one of the most widely used, data-driven methodologies to make business processes more effective and efficient. As well as establishing a culture of continuous improvement, Six Sigma offers tools and techniques to define, evaluate, and improve the quality of every step of a process leading to increases in productivity. Reducing variance, eliminating waste and defects, and identifying the root causes of errors, it allows organizations to create better products and services for consumers, achieve business structure efficiencies, and increase the bottom-line profit. While many people associate Lean Six Sigma with manufacturing, the methodology is applicable to any type of process and in any industry and setting including services and the public sector.

‘’The biggest room in the world is the room for improvement.’’

Helmut Schmidt

Almost every organisation needs to find a way of defining, measuring, analysing, improving, and controlling (DMAIC) their processes in order to reduce or completely eliminate defects, over-production or processing, waiting time, unused talent, idle capacity or resources, transport costs, and excessive inventory. Lean Six Sigma is a powerful approach to implementing quality control measures and employing change. Lean Six Sigma focuses on customer satisfaction by improving business practices and removing actions that do not add value.

What do Six Sigma consultants do and why use them?

You may be wondering why you would even need an external consultant who may not have direct experience of your business and markets, after all, you have probably already invested a lot of money training your own personnel in all aspects of your operations.

We believe that you know more about your business and industry better than any Six Sigma consultant. However, sometimes it is a good idea to step back and let someone else have a fresh and impartial view of your processes thus avoiding any internal bias. An independent Six Sigma consultant may have more knowledge on some aspects or at least see things in a different way to offer you an alternative approach and new ideas. We also have a strong engineering, mathematical, and statistical training and teaching background and can skillfully hinder the challenges and provide sound, logical explanations at each stage of the process.
